OCTOBER CLUB NEWSLETTER
Ironman 70.3 Galway:A huge congratulations is given to all 10 club members who braved the elements to take on the 70.3 Ironman event in Galway in early September. They all did the club proud by not only all completing the course but also recorded some impressive times, with Edward O'Keefe finishing best of the KTC bunch with a suberb sub-5hr time. Triathlon Results:There were many races that took place over the last 2 months that had a strong KTC presence and, as with almost every triathlon this year, KTC members were never too far from the podium! 2011 Club Ranking: Triathlon Ireland have posted the Tri Club Rankings for 2011, which is based on club member performances at National Series events. We are delighted to say that Kilkenny Triathlon Club finished in 13th position out of 60 clubs! This is a fantastic achievement for a club only 8 months old and we want to give mention to the 6 racers that have collected the most points this year for the club - Brendan McCarthy, Edward O'Keefe, Colm Murray, Ronan Meally, Darragh McGuire and John Fogarty
Running Sessions: Our track session will resume at the Watershed from Thursday 3rd November at 20:30. Cost is €2 per head to cover the cost of the track. We also have the option of retaining the track for the sessions from January onwards but this is dependant on turnout, so dont let the cold weather put you off. Dig out the winter woolies!! Also, we will be starting running in the castle park on Saturday mornings beginning 5th Nov at 10:30am.
Cycling Sessions: Marble city cyclers have agreed that we can cycle with them on Saturday mornings. They leave from the castle gates at 9am every Saturday

Pub Quiz: For all you budding eggheads out there we will be having a pub quiz in Billy Byrnes on Thurs 17th Nov at 20:00. Table of four €20. Open to all members and anyone else they want to bring (excluding Stephen Hawking !!!). Prizes to be announced, but it will be cash
Christmas Party / Awards Night: Please keep Saturday the 10th December free as this is the night where all athletic ability will go out the window !! We are having our inaugural Christmas Party. This will also be our awards night so you should really make an effort to be there. Who knows, you may get the award for best dressed at a training session, or best bike stunt or even best sense of direction in a race !!! Time and venue to be confirmed at a later date (before 10th December !)

Wedding Bells: Im sure you will all join me in wishing our esteemed treasurer, Mr. Aidan J Brennan, and club member, Miss Ailish Bolger, a huge congratulations on their recent wedding (to each other !). Rumour has it that Baden Powell himself presided over the ceremonies, and the honeymoon was at a jamboree in Iceland !!! Congrats Mr. and Mrs.Brennan.
