2012 Age Group Selection Open

Each year, Triathlon Ireland offers all Irish athletes a chance to compete at international level in triathlon and duathlon. If you make the team, you can be proud to represent Ireland and enjoy the experience of racing at an International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championship or European Triathlon Union (ETU) European Championship.

In 2010 & 2011, a record number of age group athletes represented Ireland across the globe in the European and World Championships.  The most memorable were the European Triathlon Champs held in Athlone last year and the European Duathlon Champs held in Limerick in April this year, where a number of our athletes won medals in their age groups.

So with the 2012 European and World Championships selection now open, now is the time to start thinking if you'd like to join the Irish team.

Who Can Race At the European & World Champs?

These races are open to anyone over 18yrs of age (or 16yrs of age for sprint distance races only) who meet the qualification and eligibility criteria.

You must be an Irish passport holder, have been born on the island of Ireland or be a resident on the island of Ireland.

How to Qualify

How to Apply

All applications are being taken online now for 2012 races.  To submit an application, you must be a member of Triathlon Ireland in 2011 and will require your username/password to log into your membership details where you will be able to submit an online application form.
